Have you just entered your mid-20s and are already encapsulated by clouds of disquietude, apprehension, and stress?

A few decades back, people used to speculate that the early 20s is the perfect age for getting married.

A person who would pass this so-called ideal age was considered to be on God’s mercy. Everyone would say only miracles can save that poor soul.

Fortuitously, the scenario has changed now. It makes no difference if you are attending a Muslim marriage event or a Christian marriage ceremony; you will observe that the average age of the groom is around 28, 29, or 30, and the average age for the bride is around 27 or 28.

Let’s study some of the leading reasons that have caused the mushroom growth of this ‘New Normal’ in a real quick time!

1. Influx of Formal Education

Most people don’t get married soon these days, simply because they want to complete their formal education.

Previously, women would wait for their grooms after completing secondary education or graduation. Now women don’t wait for the groom. Instead, they work for themselves and get themselves enrolled in institutions for doctorate programs.

2. People Wait for Maturity

Most people think late marriages are an indirect way of nurturing hookup culture. This is not true.

Late marriages occur because people are waiting to become mature and understand themselves better. Understanding one’s self is crucial before entering into a serious commitment.

Hookup culture is something prohibited in many religions like Islam, Christianity, etc. For that reason, platforms like https://muslimmarriageevents.info/events/london/ are working day in and night out to manage wedding ceremonies for Muslims living in London.

3. Financial Independence

Financial independence boosts esteem and gives wings to fly in the sky instead of sitting on the ground and moaning over spilled milk.

Men and women work hard to become financially independent so that they wouldn’t face financial issues in the future if things don’t work for them.

4. It Gives Them Time to Know Themselves Better

Late marriages are beneficial for both partners. This is because they are provided with enough time to contemplate and ponder over themselves and what type of partner they want to spend life with.

Most people think they can find compatible partners in their early 20s. This is possible too. However, studies say person transforms a lot in their 20s. A person you find compatible in your early 20s may become irritating to you in your late 20s.

5. We Have More Choices

Nowadays, men and women have a wide range of choices to opt from. A few decades back, parents would find out partners for us. These days men and women choose partners for themselves. They know what they need in their partners and take decisions accordingly. This is one of the major reasons for late marriages. Men and women simply need time to choose from a wide range of options.

Conclusion

It seems like marriage culture has been rewritten in the past few years. Nowadays, people prefer to get married after passing early 20s. Previously, people would get married in their early 20s. To know more about Muslim marriage events in London, contact us!
