About us

Likefigures.com is a unique web service designed to connect end-users (consumers), the designer of 3D models (designers) and the owners of 3D printers (makers) worldwide.

Likefigures.com is providing its service in 193 countries of Postal Union offering the consumers to download the file or order a printed product, where Likefigures.com network is locating the best service and price for the consumer.

STL file by Wikipedia: STL (STereoLithography) is a file format native to the stereolithography CAD software created by 3D Systems. STL is also known as Standard Tessellation Language. This file format is supported by many other software packages; it is widely used for rapid prototyping and computer-aided manufacturing. STL files describe only the surface geometry of a three-dimensional object without any representation of color, texture or other common CAD model attributes. The STL format specifies both ASCII and binary representations. Binary files are more common, since they are more compact.

An STL file describes a raw unstructured triangulated surface by the unit normal and vertices (ordered by the right-hand rule) of the triangles using a three-dimensional Cartesian coordinate system. STL coordinates must be positive numbers, there is no scale information, and the units are arbitrary.

The user can select items from different materials (PLA, ABS, or other) as well as in a full range of colors. Each item is available in appropriate set of materials which were examined during the test printings period.

The ordering process is very simple: the consumers only need to select the item and design, as if they order any other product via e-commerce sales network. Upon completion of the check-out, the consumer’s credit card will only be authorized, but not charged. Only when the item is printed and sent to the customer's address, the credit card will be charged.

If for any reason the consumer is unsatisfied with the item, he/she can return it following the return policy.

The website is designed visually and technically easy, for both 3D designers and 3D makers, enabling and inviting all those who have adequate knowledge in design, or those who possess 3D printers, to sign in and upload their design; or to provide their printing service, as a part of an integrated web offer of goods and services. If any designer’s surcharge fee is expected, it should be indicated in the uploading form. Likefigures.com will review the application form and inform the designer within 24 hours whether his/her design was approved.

In addition to filling in the appropriate form, 3D makers have to accept the Terms and Conditions for makers. Likefigures.com will contact them within 24 hours. The printing fee for 3D makers is calculated per cm3 in USD to the minimum printing fee of USD 0.12 (twelve cents per cubic centimeter) or to any other agreed price. The product volume is defined according to the calculation for 3D content on NetFabb or Simplify3D. The printing fee excludes any import / export duty or shipping costs.)

Our mission is to promote the web design skills among all population groups and ages, to animate and encourage those who have a 3D printer at home to provide their printing services in global networking and to earn additional experience, knowledge as well as benefit. At the same time, the web site is considered as a great learning tool for basic practice in small entrepreneurship. It is enhancing creativity and connecting people of the same interest. It fosters self expression in original design and makes any product available that is not present in the regular supply chain.
